Region made up of the strip of tropical and sub-tropical piedmont that runs north-south from the border with Peru in the department of La Paz to the frontier with Argentina in the department of Tarija.

Figurative motif related to the geographic and productive environment, elaborated in bands of design in warpfaced textiles, in selected technique counting by pairs 2/2, and in some cases counting by odd 2/1. This motif is found in historic textiles of the Pacajes Early Colonial stye (1535 AD - 1780 AD) and in ethographic textiles of the styles knwn as Qharaqhara norte, Charkas norte, Charkas sur y Quillacas, amongst others. Generally they belong to design bands found immediately to the side of pampas and/or wide stripes.

Found in ethnographic warp-faced cloths in the textiles of the Isla de Taquile in Perú, and of the Islas and Mollo styles in Bolivia, forming part of bands of designs, elaborated through selected technique with paired weft, and selected technique with basic odd count 1/1.
