Variant of the loom developed in the East and brought to the Andes at the end o the 16th century by the Spaniards mainly to make baize or rustic cloth. The movement of the heddles is produced by a system of pedals. The tension of weft and warp threads is fixed and maintained by the solid wooden frame of the loom.

Variante del telar desarrollado en el Oriente y traído a los Andes a fines del siglo XVI por los españoles principalmente para elaborar bayeta de la tierra. El movimiento de los lizos se hace con un sistema de pedales. La tensión de los hilos de urdimbre y trama es fija y mantenida por el marco sólido de madera del telar.
